About the BComm

The challenge of competing effectively in a rapidly changing global economy can only be met through well-educated responsive business leadership. Preparing those who will successfully meet this challenge is the objective of the Haskayne School of Business.

The BComm degree at the Haskayne School of Business is a four-year program you can enter in either first year as a direct entry student, or your third year as a transfer student.

Our Bachelor of Commerce degree offers you more than just classroom learning; you'll have the unique privilege of connecting to the business community through our Mentorship program, a Career Centre that helps you to polish your resume, practice for interviews and find jobs suited to your specialization, and a Co-Op program that gives you the opportunity to “earn while you learn”, gain business experience, develop a network of contacts and have a better understanding of careers in your field.

The component parts of the programs have been formulated on the principle that graduates will spend a major portion of their work life in a constantly changing environment. Therefore, the task of the business school is to provide the student with the opportunity to obtain a broad knowledge of the concepts underlying the operation and management of organizations. Upon graduation, a student should be equipped to function, not only in an initial position, but also for the whole of his/her subsequent career.

Haskayne offers you the opportunity of choosing from one of 18 concentrations. A concentration represents a focus on material within the business discipline which allows you to specialize in an area of your choice. When you initially apply to Haskayne you choose a concentration, but this concentration may be changed in a subsequent term following the admission term.
