Bio
Rob received his Doctor of Philosophy in Human Resource Management at the Strathclyde Business School, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland and his MBA and BSc. at the University of Calgary. Rob also has a Certificate in Management (CIM) designation from the Canadian Institute of Management. He has sat on numerous committees for the business school including the Merit Committee, Academic Appointment Review Committee, Academic Standing Committee, Appeals Committee and Undergraduate Review Committee. Rob has also served as the business school representative on the Senate for the University of Calgary. Prior to returning to school, Rob worked as a manager for ten years at the Calgary District Hospital Group in Human Resource Management.
Rob teaches senior undergraduate courses for the Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics Area, as well as graduate courses abroad for the business school (Ecuador, Poland and other countries). Rob’s research areas of interest include intellectual capital development and organizational culture.
Rob has combined his research fields and now studies organizational culture and climate and their impact upon the development of intellectual capital. His work has been published in the Journal of Business Ethics and other notable journals.
Rob has received several awards for both teaching and research. He received the Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award in 1999 and the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence (Combined Programs) in 2002. He received both the Outstanding Research Award and Best in Session Award in 2006 at the Global Conference on Business Finance in Costa Rica.
Rob has a variety of interests including wood carving, composing music, and astrophysics.
