Michael Wright

Dr. Michael Wright is an Associate Professor in the accounting area. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from Simon Fraser University and his PhD in Accounting from Queen's University.  Michael currently teaches Intermediate Financial Accounting to accounting undergraduate students; Financial Statement Analysis and Global Energy Finance & Accounting to MBA students; and Philosophy of Science to business PhD students.  He has also taught in executive development programs.

Dr. Wright is currently conducting research on business and accounting education while his previous research has focused on oil and gas accounting, intellectual capital, auditing, critical theory and stigma management.  He has published in Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory and in Accounting, Organizations and Society.  He has received research grants from such funding organizations as the Certified General Accountants Research Foundation, the Canadian Academic Accounting Association and the Society of Management Accountants.
