The Haskayne School of Business and the Rozsa Foundation invite you to join us for the inaugural session of Classroom to Boardroom – a community engagement program which aims to match Haskayne students and graduates with local art not-for-profit boards.
The program’s objective is to provide a seamless extension of community involvement for the Haskayne student – an incentive to enroll in courses that contain an interaction with arts community which then culminates in a real opportunity to serve on a local art not-for-profit board.
Outcome:
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will work with the Rozsa Foundation who will match participants with an appropriate art not-for-profit organization looking to recruit new board members.
Who is the pilot project targeting?
- Haskayne students or alumni who are enrolled in, or have completed, the MGST 597 directed study in Marketing/Auditing for Arts Administrators and/or MKTG 559 (Arts and Culture Marketing).
- Haskayne student leaders and alumni who are interested in learning about non-profit governance with a specific interest in art organization boards.
- Note: previous board experience is not required.
What is it?
A hands-on non-credit (extracurricular) workshop which introduces the basics of not-for-profit governance. An 8-hour ‘not-for-profit board governance 101 course’ which introduces best practices that will prepare and enhance the ‘board readiness’ of students and young alumni.
Limited space available.
