The Haskayne School of Business is at an exciting point in its growth. With a stronger vision, a bold new strategic plan and a re-energized faculty, we are preparing for our re-accreditation by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International. AACSB Accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized/professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn. The external Re-Accreditation Review Committee will be at the School from January 15-17, 2012.

The visit is a rigorous assessment of the school's progress towards achieving its mission. It begins with a discussion with the School's senior administration on Sunday evening and ends with a meeting with University President Elizabeth Cannon on Tuesday. In between, the Committee will be seeking input from a variety of stakeholders (including students, alumni and the business community) on the School's key accomplishments.

The Haskayne School has come a long way since 1967. We were the first to be AACSB accredited (in 1985) and the second of only eleven Canadian business schools to gain the accreditation. Today, only 620 business schools out of 13,000 world-wide are so accredited.

Our growth, and subsequent success, has been facilitated by individuals like you – alumni, committee members, recruiters, donors, supporters, mentors – who believe in what we do. You have been there as ambassadors, supporters and key advisors. In that role, we recognize that you are one of our most valuable assets – volunteers who want to stay connected, be part of the process and continue to contribute feedback and input. The Review Committee sees the views of the Business Community as critical.
